Invocation Our Dear, Dear Motherby Raffi
Our dear, dear Mother, daily provider, earth be your name. The time has come, to honor you, to know you and to show our love.” 1.You give us each day our daily grain, kissed by the sun and kissed by the rain. Teach us now to find a way to care for you in our work and play. Chorus 2.Within the beauty of your silent spin, we know you’re hurting and we feel your pain. With your forgiveness we can start anew. We need a chance to make it up to you. Chorus

Gospel of Mark 4:26-34 Jesus said further, “The reign of God is like this; a sower scatters seed on the ground, then goes to bed at night and gets up day after day. Through it all the seed sprouts and grows without the sower knowing how it happens. The soil produces a crop by itself—first the blade, then the ear, and finally ripe wheat in the ear. When the crop is the sower wields the sickle, for the time is ripe for harvest.” Jesus went on to say “”What comparisons can we use for the reign of God? What image will help to present it? It is like a mustard seed which people plant in the soil: it is the smallest of seeds, yet once it is sown it springs up to become the largest of shrubs with branches big enough for the birds of the sky to build their nests in its shade.” Using many parables like these, Jesus spoke the message to them, as much as they could understand. Everything was spoken in parables, but Jesus explained everything to the disciples later when they were alone.

Prayersof Confession (in unison) Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, words and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved
you with our whole heart; we have not loved all of creation as ourselves. We are truly sorry and humbly ask to commune with you who are the source of all. Have mercy on us and forgive us that we may grow and spiritually mature. Please pull us toward your hope and promise for miraculous healing. Amen

Closing Prayer St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Prayer
Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy, And where there is sadness, joy, joy, joy. God grant that I may not so much see; To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born, to Eternal Life. Amen, Amen, Amen

Garden Song by David Mallett
ChorusInch by inch, row by row,
Gonna make this garden grow.
All it takes is a rake and a hoe,
And a piece of fertile ground.
Inch by inch, row by row,
Someone bless these seeds I sow.
Please God warm them from below,
Till the rain comes tumbling down.
Pulling weeds and picking stones ,
We are made of dreams and bones.
Feel the need to grow my own,
Cause the time is close at hand.
Grain for grain, sun and rain,
Find my way in nature's chain.
Tune my body and my brain,
To the music from the land.
Plant your rows straight and long,
Temper them with prayer and song
Mother Earth will make you strong,
If you give her love and care
Mother crow watching me,
From her perch in yonder tree
In my garden I'm as free,
As that feathered mother up there.
Announcements:We are witnessing the 6thextinction of life on earth -the only one created by humans. We gather to create community and to give thanks to God for all of creation. Every Sunday at 5 pm we acknowledge that we need one another more than ever before. Jesus taught a way to live in the truth and taught us that, “The truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) Following worship we invite everyone to the Mary Magdalene Cafe for a pot luck dinner at 6 pm, with vegetarian soup or main dish and drinks provided. Weather permitting we share star gazing and dancing. We follow in the early traditions of house churches lead by women in the first few hundred years of early Christianity and also study the newly found gnostic gospels. Children and dogs are especially welcome at worship. (Dogs are not allowed at Torrey Pines State Park) Please call Rev. Bonnieif you want a pastoral visit. (858) 248-5123
