Meditation“Christian faith is not essentially bound up with the God who is seen primarily as Creator—Lord of history—Lawgiver—Judge and who has so long dominated the Christian sensibility and imagination of the West. What the Christian know in Jesus is something quite different, and something which speaks more of human responsibility than of total dependence, more of full humanity than of repression, more of hope than of nostalgia of fear. The One who is met in Jesus is the God who suffers with us and for us more than the God who demands and judges from on high. We may name him Christ …but we must now, as never before, allow what appeared in Jesus to give meaning and content to the Reality we thereby name.” God and the World, John Cobb

Invocation Our Dear, Dear Motherby Raffi
Our dear, dear Mother, daily provider, earth be your name. The time has come, to honor you, to know you and to show our love.” 1.You give us each day our daily grain, kissed by the sun and kissed by the rain. Teach us now to find a way to care for you in our work and play. Chorus 2.Within the beauty of your silent spin, we know you’re hurting and we feel your pain. With your forgiveness we can start anew. We need a chance to make it up to you. Chorus

Musical Prayer Every Time I Feel the Spirit
Every time I feel the Spirit moving in my heart I will pray.
Every time I feel the Spirit moving in my heart I will pray.
1.Upon the mountain, when my God spoke, out of his mouth came fire and smoke. In the valley, on my knees, asked my God have mercy please.
2. Jordan River, chilly and cold, chills the body but not the soul.
All around me was a shine asked my God if all was mine.
3. Inside the cave of Mary Magdalene, we felt the flowers and the oil.
We prayed for God to love us please and in her mercy she agreed.
Prayers of Confession (in unison) Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We are living in a time of the sixth extinction of life on earth where 150-200 species of plants, insects, birds and mammals become extinct every 24 hours. As we face this truth we need your love as we devote our lives to serve all creatures. We pray for all creatures who are suffering from the violence of poverty, systemic racism, ecological devastation, and the war economy. You who we call by many names, you who are the source of all, have mercy on us and bless the holy union between Jesus and Mary Magdalene within us and in our world. Heal us in your miraculous love. Amen
Prayers(Please share names or one sentenceand we will pray for them and everyone with the same suffering or joy.)
Silent Prayer
Scripture Gospel of Thomas Saying 22 "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner as the outer, and the upper as the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male shall not be male, and the female shall not be female: . . . then you will enter [God, the Kingdom of God]."
Gospel of John 5:17, 6:55, 6:63 Jesus said to them, “Abba God is working right now, and I am at work as well.” …not only was he speaking of God as “Abba”—that is, Papa”—thereby making their relationship one of intimacy and equality.
6:55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink Everyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I live in them. Just as the Living Abba God sent me and I have life because of Abba God, so those who feed on me with have life because of me.
6:63It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh in itself is useless. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” (The Inclusive New Testament)

Closing PrayerSt. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Prayer
Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy, And where there is sadness, joy, joy, joy. God grant that I may not so much seek; To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born, to Eternal Life. Amen, Amen, Amen

Group Reading and Introduction of Ritual
Voice One:Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and, burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.
Voice Two: In another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again. Alice's first instinct when she sees something unusual is to chase it. She doesn't think about her own safety, she doesn't concoct a plan, and she doesn't feel scared. She just feels surprised, then curious, and we're off – knowing she's going to be a fun character to follow through the adventures she's certain to have with this attitude.
Voice Three:Soon her eye fell on a little glass box that was lying under the table: she opened it, and found in it a very small cake, on which the words "EAT ME" were beautifully marked in currants. "Well, I'll eat it," said Alice, "and if it makes me grow larger, I can reach the key; and if it makes me grow smaller, I can creep under the door: so either way I'll get into the garden, and I don't care which happens!" (Wonderland 1.22)
Voice Four:Not only does Alice explore the fantasy realm of Wonderland, she also explores different states of being for herself. After all, that's what all children have to do – explore a new size and a new body pretty much every day.
Voice Five: By this time she had found her way into a tidy little room with a table in the window, and on it (as she had hoped) a fan and two or three pairs of tiny white kid-gloves: she took up the fan and a pair of the gloves, and was just going to leave the room, when her eye fell upon a little bottle that stood near the looking-glass. There was no label this time with the words "DRINK ME," but nevertheless she uncorked it and put it to her lips. "I know something interesting is sure to happen," she said to herself, "whenever I eat or drink anything: so I'll just see what this bottle does." Alice's sense of adventure sometimes borders on the reckless. The author is careful to explain that Alice usually makes sure the things she eats and drinks aren't marked poison, but in this case she seems particularly careless. Isn't it likely that a bottle beside a mirror in a bedroom would be filled with cologne or some other toiletry that wouldn't be a good idea to drink?
Spoken Vows(in unison)
I Jesus, take you Mary Magdalene . . .
I, Mary Magdalene, take you, Jesus . . .
For richer, for poorer . . .
In sickness and in health . . .
To love and to honor . . .
To hold and to cherish . . .
From each sun to each moon . . .
From tomorrow to tomorrow . . .
From now to forever . . .
Till death do us part.
With this ring, I thee wed.
With this ring, I thee wed.
Singing vows
Make of our hands one hand,
Make of our hearts one heart,
Make of our vows one last vow:
Only death will part us now.
Make of our lives one life, day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start, One hand, one heart;
Even death won’t part us now.
Make of our lives, one life
Day after day, one life, Now it begins, now we start,
One hand, one heart, Even death won’t part us now.
Announcements:We are witnessing the 6thextinction of life on earth -the only one created by humans. We gather to create loving community that lives in harmony with nature. Jesus taught a way to live in the truth and taught us that, “The truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) Every Sunday at 5 pm we come to acknowledge that we need one another more than ever before during the ecologic disaster. Following worship we invite everyone to the Mary Magdalene Cafe for a pot luck dinner at 6 pm, with vegetarian soup or main dish and drinks provided. Weather permitting we share star gazing and dancing. We follow in the early traditions of house churches led by women in the first few hundred years of early Christianity and also to study the newly found gnostic gospels and honor all wisdom traditions. Children and dogs are especially welcome at worship. (Dogs are not allowed at Torrey Pines State Park)
Please pray and ask for guidance for Church for Our Common Home. We are open to having someone or some organization who may like to donate two or more acres of land in San Diego County, or where the spirit leads us, to build a straw bale artistic untraditional church and prayer center. Inspired by the creativity of Salvation Mt here in southern California and the community in Findhorn Scotland we hope to create a sacred place of beauty to inspire and heal our religious imaginations as we create a new religious story for our time. We are open to collaborating with others as we work to alleviate suffering in children and all living creatures. This will increase due to the ecologic catastrophe and planetary crisis. We are called to respond awake and in love. We follow in the footsteps of Brother Roger who bought a farm in France and cared for orphans in need of help after WWII and created a loving and thriving spiritual community in Taize. It is time to prepare for the ecologic disaster as we create a radically loving spirit filled community. Our 501C-3 nonprofit tax exempt status for church approved! Your gifts to church are tax deductible.
