The Wisdom Jesus by Cynthia Bourgauelt

Meditation “Underlying all his (Jesus’) teachings is a clarion call to a radical shift in consciousness; away from the alienation and polarization of the  egoic operating system and into the unified field of divine abundance that can be perceived only through the heart.”

Cynthia Bourgauelt The Wisdom Jesus

Welcome We dedicate this worship to St Clare of Assis and her radical love for St Francis of Assis.

Our dear, dear Mother, daily provider, earth be your name. The time has come, to honor you, to know you and to show our love.” 1.You give us each day our daily grain, kissed by the sun and kissed by the rain. Teach us now to find a way to care for you in our work and play. Chorus 2.Within the beauty of your silent spin, we know you’re hurting and we feel your pain. With your forgiveness we can start anew. We need a chance to make it up to you. Chorus

Music     I’ve Got Peace Like a River by Marvin Frey

I’ve got peace like a river….joy like a fountain…. love like an ocean….

Prayersof Confession  (in unison) Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We are living in a time of  the 6thextinction of life on earth where 150-200 species of plant, insect, bird and mammal become extinct every 24 hours and we need strength and vision to prepare for the catastrophe.  The human family  has not loved you and your creation with our whole hearts; we have not loved  our human, non-human and plant relatives as ourselves. We are truly sorry and humbly ask you to help us to face the truth of the severity of our circumstances and begin to  work to do our inner work and save our common home, mother earth.  We  come knowing we must look to the inner demons within us and all the ways we have sinned against you by not telling the truth. You who we call by many names, you who are the source of all, have mercy on us and give us courage as we seek to heal and purify ourselves in your unbounding love.   Awaken us to our false selves and egos that we may confess and share the truth of our smallness. We long to spiritually grow and become more loving to you, to ourselves and to everyone we encounter. Please bring all those things into holy union within us, so that we may become radically loving like you and like Jesus.  Heal us in your

miraculous love.  Give us courage to face the truth when we are afraid. We give thanks and are in awe of your extravagant love. Amen

Prayers(Please share names or one sentence and we will pray for them and  everyone with the same suffering or joy.)

Closing PrayerSt. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Prayer

Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy, And where there is sadness, joy, joy, joy. God grant that I may not so much see; To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born, to Eternal Life. Amen, Amen, Amen

Benediction               Blessing Song           by Miriam Therese Winters

May the blessings of God go before you. May her grace and peace abound. May her spirit live within you. May her love wrap you round. May her blessings remain with you always. May you walk on holy ground.

Mary Magdalene CaféPlease stay for communion. Today we will share finger foods and birthday cake for July and August birthdays.

Scripture Philippians 2:9,10 Though his (Jesus’) state was that of God, yet he did not deem equality with God something he should cling to. Rather, he emptied himself, (Greek verb- Kenosein means to let go or empty oneself) and assuming the state of a slave, he was born in human likeness.“

Sufi Mystic Jalalludin Rumi

Love is recklessness, not reason. Reason seeks a profit, Love comes on strong, consuming herself, unabashed. Yet in the midst of suffering, Love proceeds like a millstone, hard-surfaced and straight forward. Having died to self-interest, she risks everything and asks for nothing. Love gambles away every gift God bestows.”

PrayerUnknown poet left at the body of a dead child in a death camp.

(in unison) O God remember not only the men and women of good will, but also those of ill will. But do not remember all the suffering they inflicted on us; Remember the fruits we have brought, thanks to this suffering—our comradeship, our loyalty, our humility, our courage, our generosity, the greatness of heart which has grown out of all this and when they come to judgement let all the fruits which we have borne be their forgiveness. Amen

Announcements:We are witnessing the 6thextinction of life on earth -the only one created by humans. We gather to create community and to give thanks to God for all of creation as we build a new ‘ecologic civilization.’  .  Jesus taught a way to live in the truth and taught us that, “The truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) Every Sunday at 5 pm we acknowledge that we need one another more than ever before as we deepen our relationship with God. Following worship we invite everyone to the Mary Magdalene Cafe for a pot luck dinner at 6 pm, with vegetarian soup or main dish and drinks provided. Weather permitting we share star gazing and dancing. We follow in the early traditions of house churches led by women in the first few hundred years of early Christianity and also to study the newly found gnostic gospels. Children and dogs are especially welcome at worship. (Dogs are not allowed at Torrey Pines State Park)

We need your help to find someone who will give us two or more acres of land in San Diego County to build our straw bale work of art church in the spirit of Salvation Mt. We will also consider collaborating with another organization to work to alleviate suffering and create community for needy serve children, families, Mother Earth and the least of these. Any ideas of organizations in San Diego who may already have structures and or land that we could share are needed. Our visions is that the  elders in our church will  become community makers during the time of ecologic devastation,  following in the footsteps of the Taize community after WWII. Brother Roger bought a farm and cared for orphans and invited ecumenical religious leaders to join him. They became an  innovative spirit filled ecumenical community who continues to attract young people. It is time to prepare for the ecologic disaster in building radically loving community.   Church for Our Common Home has the vision of  using our planetary crisis as an invitation to spiritually grow and create sustainable and loving community. Our 501C-3 nonprofit tax exempt status for church approved! Your gifts to church are tax deductible.
